Dr. Katherine Wong, Doctor of Dental Medicine

Services

Sedation

For the anxious patient, we offer the option of taking an oral relaxant in the office, as long as there are no medical contraindications. A small fee may apply.

Children

Kids are always welcome at the office! We always strive to make their visits as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and the comfy chairs and the television sets located on the ceilings of the rooms are a big hit! Children under the age of 5 years can come in for a free first dental visit, or what we like to call a Happy Visit.

Mercury-free fillings

We offer the traditional amalgam (“silver fillings”) as well as the more esthetic, and mercury-free composite (tooth colored) fillings.

Cosmetic Procedures

In addition to the conventional crowns and bridgework, we can do all ceramic crowns for cases with high esthetic demands, for instance, the front teeth that are highly visible when talking and smiling. To help you achieve the best looking smile you can possibly have, we offer procedures such as teeth whitening, full mouth reconstruction and options for treating stained teeth or even fluorosis. Please refer to the before and after pictures in our Smile Gallery.

Hygiene

Our gentle and friendly hygienists provide thorough dental cleanings (scaling and root planing). We firmly believe that having healthy gums is the best foundation for having healthy teeth.

Oral Cancer Screening

A visual oral cancer screening is routinely performed with each new patient exam as well as during routine recall exams.

Root Canal Therapy

We use rotary instrumentation, one of the latest advancements in root canal procedures, to treat dying or dead teeth that can be a source of great pain and/or infection for patients.

Extractions

We do some wisdom teeth extractions as well as regular extractions. In addition, patients have the option of having the procedure performed under oral sedation to ease anxiety and nervousness.

Dentures

We are happy to help patients meet the important need for esthetics as well as the more practical one of eating by providing them with complete or partial dentures. We can also repair and reline existing dentures for better fit and function.

Sleep Apnea

Dr. Wong has had special training in the fabrication of the Klearway™ sleep apnea appliance to help you sleep better and ensure your breathing is more regular during sleep. A prescription from a respiratologist is required for this treatment.

TMD (Temporomandibular Disorder)

Tight, sore jaw and cheek muscles, headaches, neck and shoulder muscle pain can be symptoms of TMJ or jaw joint problems. TMJ problems caused by grinding and/or clenching, which often happen subconsciously, can be minimized by the use of nightguards during sleep. In addition, using sportsguards while playing sports reduces the risks of head and teeth injuries as well as concussions.
